Limonada de Coco, Mila Café Cartagena, Colombia I spent a marvelous 10 days in steamy Cartagena, Colombia, in November, where I ate plate after plate of spicy-tangy ceviches; dozens of sugary-sweet and sometimes sour fruits; and way too many arepas de huevo (deep-fried egg-filled corn cake deliciousness). But the most resonant food memory I have from that trip—the item I find myself craving again and again—is the limonada de coco from Mila Café, a stylish patisserie/restaurant in the El Centro section of the old walled city. An icy blend of lime juice, coconut water, and sugar, whipped to a heavenly froth, it's both as refreshing as a frosty lemonade and as soul-satisfying as a milkshake.
