Gimlet

September 1993
A terribly underappreciated drink, and a rare exception to the use-only-fresh-juice rule. The original version was equal parts gin and Rose’s lime juice, but the 4:1 ratio creates a much more balanced cocktail. If this recipe is too dry, add a bit more Rose’s.

2 ounces (1/4 cup) gin
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) Rose’s lime juice, or to taste
1 lime slice

In a cocktail glass filled with ice combine the gin and the lime juice, stir the drink well, and garnish it with the lime. Makes 1 drink.
