Sherry Syrup

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup medium-dry Sherry
  • Bring all ingredients to a boil in a small heavy saucepan, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Cool completely.
Cooks’ note: Syrup can be made 5 days ahead and chilled.
