Shallot Dressing

Diary of a Foodie: Season Two: North Carolina: BBQ and Beyond

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
  • 1 tablespoon white-wine vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Asian sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • Stir together shallots, vinegar, and salt and let stand at least 5 minutes and up to 20 minutes. Whisk in lemon juice, sugar, and oils.
