Challenging Tastes

The world is full of rowdy events sponsored by food companies, from the Nathan’s hot dog eating contest on down. But the D’Artagnan Duckathlon is a little different: It pits teams of chefs and other food professionals against each other in tricky challenges that really test contestants’ palates and knowledge of food (well, okay, maybe not the milkshake-drinking or bread-throwing contests—and don’t even get us started on the “Saucisson Fan-Dangle”). Yesterday Gourmet stopped by the fourth annual Duckathlon, held in and around New York City’s Chelsea Market. Here were some of the highlights.
