Ruth Reichl, editor in chief of Gourmet magazine and best-selling author, announces Gourmet’s launch of www.gourmet.com. Gourmet, America’s first epicurean magazine, started in 1941, celebrates its 67th anniversary this year, and is launching a site that reflects the rich history of the magazine (offering access to our extensive archive). Gourmet’s site will focus on original content, updated daily and featuring food news and opinions from authors, artisans, chefs, scholars, humorists, and Gourmet’s editors. Video will also be an integral part of the site.

VIDEO: Gourmet.com will highlight a range of quick, entertaining, original videos, in which chefs, authors, artisans, and food scholars will discuss everything from how to make a perfect omelet to the design of the best spatula to how to eat sustainably. Regular features will include “The Ingredient,” in which top chefs talk about ingredients they love that viewers have probably never heard of, as well as reports of discoveries made in Gourmet’s eight test kitchens.
