Books for Cooks

If there is anything Madame Baudon doesn't know about chefs and their books, we still haven't discovered what it is. And at her Librairie Gourmande, a pleasant jumble of old and new cookbooks, postcards, and lithographs near the bustling Boulevard St.-Michel, she's always around to help you find what you need. The collection at the marginally smaller (and considerably neater) Librairie des Gourmets is well displayed and logically sorted, and though the out-of-print section isn't huge, there are treasures—we couldn't resist the well-worn copy of Édouard de Pomiane's Radio-Cuisine.
